The purpose of this how to guide is to provide a high-level overview of the VitalPatch
- The VitalPatch is a self-adhesive sensor device worn on the chest (Image A)
- Battery Life: 5-7 Days
- Single use application
- Streams via low energy bluetooth
- Collects heart rate, respiratory rate, and activity
- Only 1 VitalPatch is worn at a time
- The VitalPatch can be worn in one of two places on the left side of the chest (Image B)
- The VitalPatch should be replaced when the patch battery dies or if the adhesive is no longer adhering to the skin. The physIQ phone will notify participants when the patch battery is dying or if there is poor adherence (Image C)
- The VitalPatch may be worn while showering; however should NOT be submerged in water
- When showering, avoid direct exposure under the shower spray, and avoid excessive scrubbing or direct contact with soap
- Gently dry the VitalPatch after showering
- The physIQ phone should be kept within 20 feet (6 meters) of the VitalPatch for at least 16 hours per day
- The physIQ phone and the VitalPatch can be out of range of one another for up to a maximum of 8 hours per day without losing data
- The VitalPatch should be removed using adhesive remover
